Craob’s portless laptop is extremely thin

Super-thin laptops look and feel cool for the most part. Companies like Apple, Samsung, and Lenovo make really sleek stylish laptops that look as though they could slice a loaf of bread. However, Craob wants to one-up those companies and others with its ultra-thin portless laptop. Meet the Craob X, the laptop no one knew could exist (and no one really asked for). There are several defining aspects to this device, but chief among them is the fact that it has absolutely ZERO ports. That’s right; there’s no USB port, no headphone jack, no card slot, and not even a charging port. Craob’s portless laptop takes minimalist design to new heights. Without the added thickness needed to facilitate the ports, the company was able to get this laptop to about 7mm thick. To put that into perspective, that’s as thin as the notoriously thin iPhone 7!  Last year, when Samsung unveiled the new Galaxy Books, it touted that they were almost as thin as a smartphone, well, Crabo sure showed them.

So, how does this computer get its inputs?

There’s good news and bad news. The good news is that you can still use your favorite wired devices with Craob’s portless laptop. The bad news is that you need to use the mother of all dongles. There’s a large brick of a dongle that houses all of the important ports. It’s basically a hub that attaches to the laptop magnetically. Based on pictures from the website, it looks like it has a handful of USB Type-A and USB Type-C ports. There could also be an SD card port, but we don’t know just yet. So, how does this thing charge? Well, the dongle handles that too. The hub doubles as a wireless charger. It snaps onto the back of the laptop’s screen where the charging coil sits. It will simultaneously transmit the data from the ports and charge the laptop.

What other specs does it have?

The Craob X will have a 13-inch 4K bezel-less display with a punch-hole in the middle, but we’re not sure if it’s LCD or AMOLED. As for the processor, it will have up to 12th Generation Intel Core i7-1280P Processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics. There will be up to 32GB of RAM and up to 2TB of storage.

When will we see this?

If you’re excited to see this in action, then there’s more bad news. There’s no definite date to expect Craob’s portless laptop. On the company’s website, you’re greeted with a “Coming Soon” message. It’s hard to tell if this device will even come to fruition.
