There always comes a time, where you have to let go of the old smartphones to embrace the new ones. In line with this, Samsung has demoted several Galaxy A series phones on their update schedule. Notably, Samsung maintains decent transparency when it comes to updates. After several years of support, multiple Galaxy A series phones have been brought down from quarterly update schedules to biannual. What does this mean? Well, instead of receiving four firmware updates in a year, these Galaxy A series devices will receive only two updates in a year from now on. This is not something new, and all Samsung smartphones, tablets go through this process. Apparently, this also means that the company will be giving better support for its latest and premium smartphones. It makes one thing clear, though. The biannual update cycle is the last stage before the company ends firmware support entirely for a Samsung device.

Galaxy A20s, Galaxy A30s, Galaxy A50s, and Galaxy A70s will receive biannual update

According to SamMobile, the devices that will get biannual updates from the company include Galaxy A20s, Galaxy A30s, Galaxy A50s, and Galaxy A70s. All these phones were previously kept under the quarterly update cycle, but now, they will get two updates in a year. Eventually, Samsung will stop providing updates for these devices. Samsung has already served the Galaxy A20s, Galaxy A30s, Galaxy A50s, and Galaxy A70s phones with their last major Android OS update. Moreover, there is no room for new features anyways. This would also mark the last year for these phones from Samsung to be under the update cycle. Probably, next year, Samsung would completely drop update support for these devices. If you own any of the Galaxy A20s, Galaxy A30s, Galaxy A50s, and Galaxy A70s devices, then it is time for you to upgrade your phone. There are some decent upgrade options from Samsung which you can check out for. New Samsung phones are also entitled to receive four years of security update support. Besides, new smartphones are also equipped with the latest features from Samsung, which are not available on older devices. The latest smartphones also have upgraded safety and security features, which is the need of the hour in this digital world.
