The FCC has certified the Galaxy A14 5G with the model number SM-A146U (via). It’s the US version that we have previously seen in a benchmark listing. The latest sighting confirmed a few more of its rumored specs. Samsung is equipping this budget handset with a 5,000mAh battery. Earlier reports revealed that the handset will feature a 6.8-inch LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The device will run Android 13-based One UI 5.0 out of the box. It will feature a 50MP primary camera on the back and a 13MP selfie camera. The benchmark entry last month revealed that Samsung will ship the Galaxy A14 5G with the MediaTek Dimensity 700, the same chipset that powers the Galaxy A13 5G. It’s an entry-level 5G processor launched in early 2020. The 7nm SoC has two ARM Cortex-A76 CPU cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 CPU cores clocked at 2.0GHz. ARM’s Mali-G57 MC2 handles graphics duties. Rumors have it that this phone will come with an Exynos 1330 processor in some markets. Samsung may offer up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage regardless of the chipset under the hood.
The Galaxy A14 5G may go official soon
A year has passed since Samsung launched the Galaxy A13 5G as its cheapest 5G smartphone. The device arrived in the first week of December last year. Its successor appears to be right around the corner now. While the company hasn’t announced anything yet, it has published an official support page for the device on its official website in India. The support page mentions the model number SM-A146B/DS, confirming dual-SIM support in the Indian market. As said earlier, leaks and rumors about the Galaxy A14 5G have been doing rounds for some time now. But the latest developments suggest the device could arrive in the market within the next few weeks, or maybe days. We will make sure to let you know as soon as Samsung officially announces the new budget 5G smartphone.
