As of this writing, the Galaxy A51 is picking up the Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update in Vietnam, Russia, and the UAE. But it shouldn’t be long before the availability of the OTA (over the air) package expands to other markets. The new firmware version for the phone is A51xxXXU5FVC2. The One UI 4.1 update brings a ton of changes to the Galaxy A51. It contains all the goodies that are part and parcel of Google’s version of Android 12, such as the display indicators for camera and microphone access. Additionally, Samsung has included some UI changes and new features as well. Material You-inspired dynamic theming feature called Color Palette, new personalization options, improved stock apps, improved dark mode and AoD (always-on display), Grammarly-integrated Samsung Keyboard, and automatic photo optimization before sharing are some of the highlights. You can find the full list of new features here. The Galaxy A51 is also receiving the February 2022 Android security patch with this update. Note that this is the Galaxy A51 LTE we are talking about. The 5G version of the phone has yet to receive the Android 12 update from Samsung. But that shouldn’t be too far off now.
Galaxy F62 also gets Android 12 with One UI 4.1
Samsung’s Android 12 update is also now live for the Galaxy F62. This mid-range smartphone isn’t as popular as the Galaxy A51 because of its limited availability. It is an India-exclusive phone. Well, the whole Galaxy F series is designed for the Indian market in collaboration with the local e-commerce platform Flipkart. Launched in February last year, the Galaxy F62 debuted with Android 11 onboard. It is now receiving the Android 12 update complete with One UI 4.1. The new firmware version for this Samsung mid-ranger is E625FDDU2BVC3. This update also brings the February security patch. If you’re using either the Galaxy A51 or the Galaxy F62, you can now be on the lookout for the Android 12 update if you haven’t already received it. As far as installing the new software package is concerned, you probably already know the drill. Your phone should notify you of the OTA release once available. You can also manually check for updates from the Settings app.
