The cheapest Galaxy S20 model is currently picking up the new update in a handful of European countries. These include Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Slovakia, and Switzerland, according to SamMobile. The firmware version is G780FXXU5CUG6, which suggests there could be more to this update apart from the vulnerability fixes for this month. We will let you know if there’s anything notable. Talking about vulnerability fixes, you can expect plenty of those as well. Samsung has yet to publish the security bulletin for this month. Perhaps Google hasn’t published the latest Android security bulletin yet. The monthly security updates for Samsung devices contain fixes from both Google as well as the Korean biggie. Called Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE), these updates fix several security flaws specific to Samsung’s custom Android skin, i.e. One UI. That’s on top of the fixes for issues found in Android OS, of course. We should get to know the details about all the vulnerability fixes that come as part of the August patch in the coming weeks.

The Galaxy S20 FE has beaten its costlier cousins to the August 2021 Android security patch. However, it shouldn’t be long before the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra also pick up the latest security maintenance release (SMR). You can expect many other eligible Galaxy models to join this party throughout this month.
