The Galaxy S21 FE is late, but it’s finally here

This handset was expected to arrive in August last year, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. That didn’t happen due to the global chip shortage. The phone got postponed several times, and it finally launched now. The thing is, the Galaxy S22 series is expected to arrive next month, so… it will be interesting to see how well will this phone sell. In any case, let’s talk about the device. The Galaxy S21 FE is exactly what you expected, as pretty much all details leaked several times over. The phone comes with thin bezels, and a centered display camera hole. It has a flat display, and four cameras overall.

It comes in four color variants

Three of those cameras are placed on the back, and the entire design looks like a cross between the Galaxy S20 FE and S21 FE. It comes in Olive, Lavender, White, and Graphite color variants.

The device includes a 6.4-inch fullHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. In other words, this is an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 888 fuels the phone, while Android 12 comes pre-installed with Samsung’s custom UI.

Samsung announced two variants of the phone

Samsung has decided to offer two variants of the device, one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and the other with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. You cannot expand that storage, so keep that in mind. A 4,500mAh battery is also included, and it supports 25W wired, and 15W wireless charging. There are also stereo speakers here, with Dolby Atmos support. Samsung included an optical fingerprint under the display. 12-megapixel main, and 12-megapixel ultrawide cameras are backed by an 8-megapixel telephoto camera on the back. A single 32-megapixel camera can be found on the phone’s front. You can read more about them in our specifications post. The phone is water and dust resistant, thanks to its IP68 certification, and it measures 155.7 x 74.5 x 7.9mm, while it weighs 177 grams.

It’ll go on sale on January 11

Samsung has announced that the Galaxy S21 FE will become “widely available” through Samsung.com, carriers, and retailers online starting on January 11. The 6GB RAM model with 128GB of storage is priced at $699, while the 8GB RAM with 256GB of storage costs $769.
