The Galaxy S23 Ultra may utilize a 200MP camera sensor
This information comes from Ice Universe, a well-known tipster. Do note that he did not confirm it will happen. The tipster only said that Samsung is considering it, so nothing has been set in stone just yet. As most of you know, Samsung announced a new 200MP camera sensor recently, the ISOCELL HP1. It was also reported that Xiaomi is preparing a smartphone with that sensor. It would be odd for Xiaomi to release a phone with the sensor first, but we’ll see. That 200MP camera sensor does look extremely appealing , on paper. It is a huge sensor, with large pixels, and it can produce 50-megapixel or 12.5-megapixel images by using pixel binning. It looks extremely compelling for low light photography, once again, on paper. It remains to be seen how will it perform in real life, as it will need really good camera software as well, of course. The Galaxy S23 Ultra is not expected to arrive until January 2023, so we’re still a long way from that launch. The Galaxy S22 series is now in focus, as it’s expected to launch in January 2022.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra specs are not set in stone just yet
Many of you would say it’s still way too early to talk about the Galaxy S23 Ultra, and that’s true. The tipster did get some information about it, though, so it seemed like the right thing to report about it. The Galaxy S23 Ultra specs probably aren’t set in stone just yet. Aside from a 200MP camera sensor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra may also bring an under-display camera. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 became the first smartphone from the company to offer such a camera. The implementation is not the best, though, so Samsung decided to skip it with the Galaxy S22 series. The Galaxy S23 Ultra may bring a new and improved version, though, along with its siblings, we’ll see.
