If you’re using a Galaxy Z Fold 2 and want to participate in Samsung’s Android 13 beta, you can check if the program is live in your region from the Samsung Members app. You should find a notice about the beta program on the app’s homepage. Click on the notice and follow the on-screen instructions to register. Once the registration is complete, you will receive the beta update over the air (OTA) like a regular software update. You can navigate to Settings > Software update to check for updates. One UI 5.0 brings plenty of changes to Galaxy smartphones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Samsung has improved system animations for a smoother transition between pages and interfaces. The system UI also gets a minor redesign, with bolder icons and other improvements all around. The company has further added new lockscreen customization options so you can give your phone a personalized look. You can now change or customize your wallpaper from the lockscreen menu. Along with the aforementioned Galaxy devices, Samsung’s Android 13 beta is also available for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, and Galaxy A52. All of these devices have picked up multiple beta builds over the past few weeks. The Galaxy S22 series was the first to get the beta program and has received five beta updates so far. The next update should be the stable build.
Samsung will begin the stable Android 13 rollout later this month
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 may be just getting the first Android 13 beta build, but Samsung is almost ready for the stable update. The company last week confirmed that the stable rollout will begin later this month. The Galaxy S22 series will get the update first, followed by other models. If history is any indication, Samsung should seed the new Android version to all of its eligible flagship models before we hit 2023. We will keep you posted.
