The Google Phone dialer redesign gives it a more “Material You” look and feel
Before the update, when you use the dialer, you’d get perfectly circular buttons for the numbers. Nothing can convince you that that’s a bad thing, but Google wanted to change it regardless. After the update, it will look like those circles were left in the sun to melt; they’ll be more ovular in shape. This brings them more in line with Material You. According to 9To5Google, this new redesign also incorporates prominent borders around the numbers, whereas the old design doesn’t. Not only that but when you tap on a key, there will be an animation that plays. You’ll see a wave radiate outward from your finger through the rest of the button. We knew about this update back in February, but that was back when it was in testing. Now, Google is starting to roll out the Phone dialer redesign for its Pixel phones. There’s a chance that you might already have this right now. If not, then you’re going to want to check and see if your phone app is fully updated. Search up the Google Phone app in the Google Play Store and check and see if you have an update. If you don’t have an update, and you don’t have the redesign, then you’ll have to wait until it reaches your device. One interesting thing to note is that this feature isn’t only for Pixel phones. One user actually had the redesign apply to their Galaxy A50.

Right now, Google will let you know if there’s a toll booth in between you and your destination, but the price has always been up in the air. However, the company is working on changing that a bit. In an upcoming update, Google Maps will give you an estimate of the toll price at the booth. Now, There’s no way for Google to outright tell you the exact price, as it fluctuates wildly. What the company will do is use contextual data about that particular booth to deliver a ballpark figure. It uses factors such as “the cost of using a toll pass or other payment methods, what the day of the week it is, along with how much the toll is expected to cost at the specific time you’ll be crossing it.” We don’t know when this feature will come out, but it shouldn’t be too long. When it launches, it will be available in America, India, and other countries.
