The OnePlus 10 series will utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC

Pete Lau shared the information via Weibo. He did not specifically name the OnePlus 10 series, though, he simply said the company’s next-gen products. The OnePlus 10 and 10 Pro will almost certainly be the names of those phones, so there you go. OnePlus has been releasing two flagship smartphones with the same SoC for years now. Unless something drastically changes in 2022, both the OnePlus 10 and 10 Pro will utilize that SoC. The OnePlus 10 series is expected to launch in January or February in China, and the global launch is said to follow in March or April. That is, at the very least, what a recent rumor said. This is a bit weird, though, as the company usually hosts the global launch first, unlike many other Chinese companies. That could change in 2022, but we’ll see. What’s also odd is that we haven’t heard anything about the OnePlus 10 yet. The OnePlus 10 Pro has been mentioned quite a few times, and its CAD-based renders leaked. The vanilla OnePlus 10 hasn’t been mentioned once. Could this indicate OnePlus is making some changes to its flagship lineup? Will the regular OnePlus 10 use an inferior SoC? Well, not necessarily. The OnePlus 10 Pro may simply be more in focus, which is normal.

The OnePlus 10 Pro specs already surfaced

Aside from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the two devices are expected to utilize powerful specs all around. Some of the OnePlus 10 Pro specs already surfaced in a rumor. The device is said to utilize a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. That display will be curved, and it will be an LTPO panel. The company will likely release both 8GB and 12GB RAM variants, and will utilize LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage. The phone will be IP68 certified, and a 5,000mAh battery will be a part of the package. 125W fast wired charging has been rumored, while the phone will likely utilize 50W wireless charging. A combo of 48, 50, and 8-megapixel cameras are expected, at least according to those rumors. The 50-megapixel ultrawide camera will double as a macro camera, it is said.
