According to the Geekbench entry, the Galaxy M52 5G (SM-M526B) will feature an octa-core Qualcomm processor with a dual-cluster CPU core arrangement: four cores clocked at 2.40GHz and four other at 1.80GHz. Numerous leaks in the past, including a previous Geekbench listing, have suggested that it’s the Snapdragon 778G SoC. But this chipset features one Cortex-A78 core clocked at 2.4GHz, three Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.2GHz, and four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.9GHz. So there’s a bit of confusion here which should get clearer once more information emerges. Nonetheless, the Galaxy M52 5G gets 8GB of RAM, though the said previous Geekbench listing had revealed that there will be a 6GB RAM variant as well. It expectedly runs Android 11 out of the box. The device should get Samsung’s One UI 3.1 on top.

The Galaxy M52 5G is shaping up to be a quite powerful mid-range smartphone

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy M52 5G is shaping up to be the most powerful Galaxy M series smartphone. The Snapdragon 778G processor with 8GB RAM certainly put it on the high-end of the spectrum. But the rest of the specs are impressive as well. We are expecting a big 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and possibly a 120Hz refresh rate. Onboard storage capacity will likely top at 128GB with an option for expanding via a micro SD card. Cameras are likely to remain unchanged from the Galaxy A52 but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. We are looking at a quad-camera setup at the back with a 64-megapixel primary shooter, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 5-megapixel macro camera, and another 5-megapixel camera for depth sensing. A 32-megapixel front-facing camera should be there for selfies and video calls. The device should also come with Samsung’s Knox security system. The Galaxy M52 5G has already picked up the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification in India. The device is said to be launched in the country at the end of September. While we don’t have a word on its pricing yet, you can expect to hear more about this phone in the coming weeks as Samsung prepares for its official unveiling.
