Samsung Galaxy phones may ditch physical buttons, but not anytime soon
Yes, that means that no physical button will be present on the phone. You don’t have to worry about this happening with the Galaxy S23 or anything of the sort. This will most likely go live with the Galaxy S25 or even later than that, presuming there’s some truth here. The source said that “all of the buttons will move to the in display by software method”. Does this mean that Samsung plans to curve the front panel to extreme levels and place those buttons on it, on the sides? Well, that is possible, but there are other possibilities, of course. Who knows, perhaps a separate touchpad will be implemented, or a small secondary display. We can guess all we want, there are a ton of possibilities.
Do take this info with a pinch of salt, though
Do take this rumor with a pinch of salt, though, of course. This seems to be a big step, and even though it may happen in the future, this information is pretty vague. It also doesn’t come from the usual sources. Smartphones are evolving, and there are a number of directions they could go in the future. It was difficult to imagine foldables being readily available in the market a couple of years ago, now it’s a reality. Rollable smartphones seem to be right around the corner, and who knows what comes after that. If some Sci-fi movies are to be believed, we may get see-through communicators. Devices that project holograms are also a possibility. Who knows what the future brings. So, we can’t really guess what will happen with Samsung’s Galaxy phones a few years from now. If there’s any truth to this rumor, chances are we’ll hear about the removal of physical buttons again, soon.
