Samsung makes some of the best soundbars you can get in the market today. It pivoted several innovations in this category, greatly improving our in-house entertainment sound systems. No wonder the company has been the world’s biggest soundbar brand for eight straight years since 2014. While it didn’t reveal the sales numbers for this year, Samsung said it is on course to retain that crown for the ninth consecutive year.

Samsung continues to innovate soundbars

The first-ever soundbar that Samsung released in 2008 was called the HT-X810. It was the industry’s first product to wirelessly connect with the sub-woofer. The soundbar also came with a built-in DVD player and was a huge hit back then. The Korean firm never looked back since then. Over the years, Samsung has released several soundbars with such unique approaches. We have seen products with integrated Blu-ray players, curved designs, and more. The company even made a soundbar featuring a vacuum tube. In 2021, Samsung launched the world’s first 11.1.4-channel soundbar, the HW-Q950A. It features Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and audio output of 616W RMS. All these experiments and innovations have helped Samsung become the biggest soundbar brand in the world. The company last year captured a 19.6 percent share of the global soundbar market. That means almost one out of every five soundbars sold anywhere in the world was made by the Korean behemoth. The company’s dominance in the market is unchallenged this year too, and will likely remain so for years to come. In its press release, Samsung states that its latest soundbars have received “favorable reviews” from tech media across the world. The company mentions several products, including the HW-Q990B model, its flagship product this year. This is the first soundbar to support wireless Dolby Atmos streaming, although you need compatible Samsung TVs for that. Samsung also mentions the HW-S800B “super slim” soundbar in its press release. This device offers Dolby Atmos sound in a profile measuring just 39.9mm. It also comes with a compact subwoofer for a 3.1.2 channel sound system. “As more and more consumers value sound experience to enjoy perfect images, interest in Samsung Sound Bars is increasing. We will continue to introduce new products that fit our needs,” said Il-kyung Seong, Vice President of Samsung’s Visual Display Business.
