Samsung has announced a new ‘Buddy’ phone with a 120Hz display

The phone does have an interesting name, and it’s the second-gen model in that series. As you can see in the provided image, the device has a waterdrop notch. Its bezels are somewhat thin, but the bottom bezel is considerably thinner than the rest. The device includes a flat display, and a triple camera setup on the back. Subtle Samsung branding sits on the back as well, while all of its physical buttons sit on the right. Its power/lock key actually doubles as a fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy Buddy 2 features a 6.6-inch fullHD+ (2408 x 1080) IPS LCD display. That panel does offer a 120Hz refresh rate. The Snapdragon 750G SoC fuels this smartphone, while Android 12 comes pre-installed, with Samsung’s One UI on top of it.

It features a 50-megapixel main camera, and a 5,000mAh battery

A 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.8 aperture) is backed by an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. The third camera on the back is a 2-megapixel macro unit. An 8-megapixel selfie camera can be found on the front. Samsung included only 4GB of RAM inside of this device, and 128GB of internal storage. It seems like at least 6GB of RAM should have been included, but there you have it. A 5,000mAh battery is also a part of the package, and it supports 25W wired charging. Wireless charging is not supported on the device, while reverse charging was also not mentioned. Bluetooth 5.1 is included, while the phone also has an audio jack. You can expand its storage via a microSD card if you want. The Galaxy Buddy 2 comes in Deep Green, Light Blue, and Orange Copper color variants. The device measures 165.5 x 77 x 8.4mm, and weighs 198 grams. It is priced at KRW399,300 ($305) in South Korea.
