Now, in case you don’t know, Android 13 is still in its beta testing phase, so any bit of One UI 5 we see will be in beta as well. Google is testing Android 13 on its Pixel phones right now, so testing One UI 5 this early really shows that Samsung wants to get a head start.
Samsung is preparing to launch One UI 5 on Android 13
Samsung didn’t officially announce this just yet, so you’ll want to take this with a grain of salt. Using firmware tracking tools, a user in Korea was able to find this information. They were able to find the beta firmware version S906NKSU2ZVF6. This is the version that’s running on Android 13. According to TizenHelp, Samsung could release the beta version of One UI 5 as early as July. Seeing as it’s already June 23rd, that shouldn’t be too long of a wait. We’re just not sure which day the OTA will start going out. When it comes to compatible phones, it’s obviously going to hit the newer devices first. As for the S series phones, it will hit the Galaxy S22/Plus/Ultra, Galaxy S21/Plus/Ultra/FE, Galaxy S20/Plus/Ultra/FE, and Galaxy S10 Lite. When it comes to the Note phones, the update will go to the Galaxy Note20, Note20 Ultra, and Note10 Lite. The update to One UI 5 won’t only go to the premium phones. Select Galaxy A, M, and F series phones will also get it along with select Galaxy Tab devices. The newer ones are a shoo-in, of course. If you own any of the Galaxy Z foldable phones, you’re going to get the update. Even if you have the first generation Galaxy Z Fold. Right now, there’s no telling what Samsung is going to add to the software, so we might have to wait until the beta officially launches (or until we get more leaks). If you have any one of those phones (especially ones released in 2022), you should be on the lookout for the beta update.
