Naturally, getting the One UI 4.0 update also means that these devices will get Android 12. One UI 4.0 is currently under development with no word on a release timeline for the stable build. Phones like the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra are reportedly top of the list. The unreleased Galaxy S21 FE will get the Android 12/One UI 4.0 update as well. Older Galaxy phones such as the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10e, and the Galaxy S10 Lite will also see the new update. This would effectively be the last major OS update for the Galaxy S10 lineup. However, the lineup will continue to receive security updates.
Samsung could also update phones in the Galaxy A, Galaxy M, and Galaxy F series
There are quite a few mid-range devices, including the Galaxy A, Galaxy F, and the Galaxy M lineup. These account for a majority of the phones on the list of 70+ eligible devices. Samsung confirmed last week that it would open the Beta program for One UI 4.0 this month. Expectedly, phones like the Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra will be on top of the eligibility list. The company will later add other devices to the program, including older flagships. The Korean manufacturer has teased the arrival of One UI 4.0 since July this year. It is expected to be a marked improvement over One UI 3.1.1, which is currently rolling out to some devices. Among the changes pitched with the new UI are updated iconography and new color schemes. One can also expect to find several Android 12-related changes blended in with One UI 4.0. Samsung broke tradition this year by not releasing One UI 3.5. This means that One UI 3.1.1 is likely the last iteration before the eventual arrival of One UI 4.0.
