Galaxy A04e design and specs
From the front, the Galaxy A04e looks the same as the other two A04-series models. We have the same 6.5-inch flat LCD panel with a waterdrop notch and a thick chin. It is an HD+ panel likely with a 60Hz refresh rate. But when you flip the device around, you’ll find only two cameras at the back. While the Galaxy A04 also has two rear cameras, the Galaxy A04s has three. Unfortunately, the new model has pretty basic sensors with a 13MP primary shooter and a 2MP depth camera. The front camera is the same 5MP unit found on the other two models, though. As you’d expect from a Samsung smartphone, the Galaxy A04e has its power and volume button on the right. Unlike the Galaxy A04s, the power button here isn’t recessed. That, unfortunately, means it doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner. We have little hope for face unlocking too. This phone is as basic as it gets. In line with that, it even lacks 5GHz Wi-Fi support. You only get 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth v5.0. The phone boasts Samsung Knox security, though. Sensors include an accelerometer, light sensor, and proximity sensor. Samsung didn’t name the processor inside the Galaxy A04e. But rumor has it that the phone is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G35 processor. It is a 12nm chipset featuring eight Cortex-A53 CPU cores clocked at 2.3GHz and the IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU operating at a maximum frequency of 680MHz. Samsung has paired the chipset with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The device supports microSD cards of up to 1TB capacity. The Galaxy A04e packs a sizeable 5,000mAh battery. It runs Android 12 out of the box, with Samsung’s One UI Core 4.1 on top. The handset measures 164.2 x 75.9 x 9.1mm in dimension and weighs 188 grams.
Price and availability
Samsung today only revealed the key specs of the Galaxy A04e, along with official press renders in black, light blue, and copper colors. The company hasn’t detailed its pricing and availability information. We expect those details to be available closer to the phone’s market debut and will let you know accordingly.
