Someone got Windows 11 running on a Pixel 6
The user got the virtual machine up with the KVM hypervisor and was able to get pretty much full EL2 on the device. One video shows the user compiling Linux. 5.17-rc3 allnoconfig for arm64. Obviously, since it’s running on a smartphone, the actual interface looks very different from what you will see on the computer. The windows are all stacked vertically and compressed to fit a portrait-oriented device.
The Pixel device was not running Android 12
You’d think that any person who would run Windows 11 on a Pixel 6 would use the most stable version of Android. That’s not the case here, however. In the tweet, the user stated that they ran windows 11 on the Pixel 6 using the Android 13 developer preview. That’s really insane to think about, as that version of Android is very unstable and very buggy. They gave us some videos showing the process, and everything seems to be running smoothly. Putting different software on certain devices is nothing new. Recently, a user was able to put wordle on an original Game Boy.
What’s new with the Android 13 developer preview?
Speaking of the Android 13 developer preview, the first one is now out in circulation. Users were able to flash the software to their phones and get their first glimpses at the future of Android. Users have been able to uncover a couple of new features and changes to the software. On the unlock screen, people will be able to switch the phones personal profile by tapping on the profile picture and selecting the account. Also, guest accounts will now be able to install apps. This is much better than the implementation on Android 12. Thanks to the optimizations being made to Android 12L, Android 13 will be optimized for a foldable phones and tablets. The changes seen here are scarce, but we should see many more new features when later developer previous come out.
