In actual sense, this feature makes users virtual DJs on the Tidal platform. Currently, it is only available to beta testers but will roll out to HiFi Plus users once the test is over. This feature will help those aspiring to be DJs test their skills with their friends on the streaming platform.

More on the new Tidal DJ session feature currently in the beta testing phase

If you are looking forward to making use of this feature now, consider joining the Tidal early access program. To join this program, simply follow the steps in this link and download the Tidal beta app. Currently, support for Android is in the works, but iOS users can access the testing app now via the App Store. Both platforms will be able to listen to songs shared using the Tidal DJ session feature. Despite joining the testing program, you will still need to be on the $20 HiFi Plus plan. Once all conditions are met, users can begin testing this feature at once and share songs with other users. Tidal says that songs shared using this new feature will be stuck on AAC quality for the meantime. There are plans to introduce higher-resolution and lossless-quality audio in the future. To share playlists or songs using this feature, users will need to name the session and then pick what is to be shared. Then, the creator of the session can then share it with friends with a link. Once other Tidal users click on the link, they will be able to listen to the playlist using AAC quality. This feature might become available to global users of the streaming platform after the beta testing is complete.
