Few US retailers are shipping out the Google Nest Cam with Floodlight ahead of an official release date
Earlier this August, Google had unveiled three new Nest Cam products, updating their lineup of security cameras. The Nest Cam Doorbell, Nest Cam (battery), and the Nest Cam with Floodlight. Alongside the second generation of the wired Nest Cam. The new Nest Cam (battery) is available to purchase via the Google Store. However, the Nest Cam with Floodlight did not receive an official launch date through the August announcement. Product listings and shipment confirmations have surfaced for the Google Nest Cam with Floodlight ahead of official sales by a few US retailers. Via 9to5Google. As of now, Google has not announced an official release date. But according to 9to5Google’s findings, Best Buy has listed the Floodlight variant on its website and can be delivered by 30th September at its North Carolina office. Walk-in pickups were also available with a delayed date. As of writing, the product is no longer available to order on the retailer’s website. More e-commerce websites have listed the unreleased product and claim to ship the security camera. Adorama, a videography hardware website, has also listed the security camera and ready ship. The Floodlight bundle has similar specifications as the new Nest Cam (battery), and is priced at $279. The outdoor security camera can be mounted to a floodlight mount to power the camera and the floodlights with a power source. It is unclear why Google had announced the Floodlight version of it’s outdoor cameras without an official sales date. The security camera may get new software polishes alongside the release of the much-awaited Pixel 6 devices and Android 12.
