Search won’t be left out of the mix either, further helping users to pick out a place to eat before booking— or review one they’ve just visited.

What’s changing with the latest Yelp app update?

Now, as noted above, the biggest of these changes have already been trialed on iOS. But a big part of this update announcement, according to Yelp, is the promise that it will update the Android app more frequently and quickly. Potentially helping it fall more in line with Apple devices. Beyond that, the change is going to be all but impossible to miss. Not least of all, because the change impacts effectively the entire experience, as shown in the images here. Not only is the sign-up and sign-in page revamped. A new, vertically aligned home feed is on the way too, along with a refreshed navigation bar. That should, according to Yelp, help users find updates from local businesses and popular menu selections. Starting with restaurants that are nearby and complete with a map view. More user-created content will be surfaced as well. And users can, of course, navigate around the map via touch to search other areas. On business pages, conversely, users will see better highlights in terms of photos. That’s in addition to a better arrangement of helpful details about the business in question. The more visually-focused app redesign, according to Yelp, will show up for more users over time. Althought it isn’t immediately clear when it will land for every user. The rollout is slated to start with around 900 cities nationwide, beginning with the incoming update.
